Court cleaning – April 2013

Contractors arrived at 7.30am to presure-wash all 4 courts in a single day and allow After School Clubs and Club Night to proceed without interruption. Don’t want to see this quarter’s water bill, but the courts look great!

New clubhouse extension – Pavilion opened on July 24th

After many months planning, generous support from Papworth Parish Council and great project management by Debra Barker,  the extension was officially opened on Sunday July 24th.

Members enjoyed bacon sandwiches and buck’s fizz before inspecting the new facilities, which include a secure equipment storage room, loo/changing room, tea/coffee area and the club room. Outside, a paved area provides a social area ideal for presentations, al fresco eating and a good vantage point for viewing matches.

Court Maintenance

Trimming the trees to protect Court 1’s playing surface from algal build-up

We have 4 all weather courts, which were built in 2005, all with floodlighting, a practice wall and curtain netting between courts.

The courts are regularly pressure-washed to maintain a high standard

The club has a busy fixture list, plenty of opportunities for friendly tennis, active coaching programs and a number of enjoyable social events which help with fund-raising.

Floodlight tokens cost £4 per hour of play and can be purchased in Papworth Stores or from committee members. Floodlit play ends at 10.00pm and the lights are programmed to go off at this time.
