New Membership Introduction Scheme
The committee has introduced a scheme to incentivise existing members to introduce new members to Papoworth Tennis Club.
New for 2010, this scheme will run from April to October and is open to all adult members. It applies to adult or family memberships only.

Play Tennis Day – June 13th
Papworth Tennis club, one of the region’s most active and dynamic tennis clubs, is again holding its Play Tennis Day to encourage people of all ages and stages to give tennis a go.
Aimed at non-members, the fun format morning is entirely free, but designed to allow anyone to try their hand and get some free coaching too. Rackets are available, but please wear non-studded trainers.
Visitors can drop in any time at the courts on King George V Playing Fields in the centre of Papworth Everard between 10.00am and 12.00 midday and stay as long as they wish. Members of the committee will be on hand to answer any questions, and tea and coffee will offered all morning.
Papworth Tennis club has almost 200 members and strives to strike a balance between good standard competitive sport and enjoyable social recreation. With 4 courts and floodlighting, and recently awarded with the LTA’s Clubmark status, it’s one of Cambridgeshire’s leading clubs.

Ken Morris – Chairman extraordinaire
Many members will be saddened to learn that Ken died on 1st March after a short period in hospital. He has been a member of our club for more years than most of us can remember serving as Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary at various times and occasionally simultaneously! His uncanny ball skills, anticipation and outrageous sense of fun on court have been sadly missed since he retired from the game shortly after his 80th birthday, but he will be remembered with affection by youngsters and oldsters alike.
